Deliciously 222 SW Bar & Grill – a MUST visit on Gran Canaria!

One good thing, and probably the only good thing about a wedding anniversary in the month of November, is that you’ll always have a good reason to travel…..

Last year, we celebrated our first anniversary with a “Dining by design” dinner by Anantara in Thailand – simply amazing.
This year, while enjoying some relaxed days on the island of Gran Canaria, we asked our good friends, Eva and Johan, about the perfect restaurant for our special day.

Without any doubt, they recommended 222 SW Bar & Grill at the Radisson hotel in Arguineguin.

We arrived at the hotel just in time to enjoy the beautiful sunset from the roof terrace and it was just the perfect start to a great evening to come.

 

Eva and Johan had booked a lovely outside table for us and we could not have wished for a better located table, overlooking the Arguineguin bay 🙂

Now, that’s a table with a view!

The restaurant has a very cosy, relaxed and warm atmosphere – even though elegant at the same time – yet again, a combination that we are huge fans of. Also a combination hard to mix for many.
The menu is extensive and you can see it here. Apart from the menu, there is always some specials of the day to choose between.

Being lovers of Canarian tapas, garlic prawns and mojo potatoes have to be part of a daily meal…. Both dishes, as well as the carpaccio, was really, really tasty. For maincourse, Brian had a steak and I had a fresh fish with prawns. Both very, very good!
You can taste that the ingredients in the food are very, very fresh and cooked with love.
Portions, starters as well as mains were very generous and in fact we didn’t have any space left for dessert. A real shame actually since I looooooove desserts….

The service throughout the meal was exceptionally good and we felt like we were being treated like Royalty as wait staff was really attentive at all times.
We will definitely return to this restaurant next time we visit the island – must enjoy that stunning view again, the great service and the lovely food. And dessert…
