For the 4th. (!) year in a row, we’re spending a week along the Dalmatian coast in Croatia. We love the small town/village of Podgora, which is located about 100 kms south of Split.
I always made fun of people going to the same place, same week, same hotel – until I became one of those people myself….. :0))) I am even one of those who actually requests the same room number every year as am now a repeat guest at Hotel Natalia….
The apartment hotel keeps a good standard and has the perfect location, right on the seafront where the beach walk starts.
Our seaview from Natalia is just priceless!
To us, this is that week of the year when we do absolutely nothing than relax. This doesn’t mean that there’s nothing to do in the area as there’s plenty…. You can visit the towns of Split, Makarska, Sarajevo and Dubrovnik as well as the islands of Hvar and Brac. Beautiful nature is around the corner as well so hiking and rafting are good options.
We, however, prefer just to relax and go for walks and sit on our balcony for hours and hours…
Every year we do go on one excursion and this year we decided to go back to the beautiful town of Dubrovnik.
What makes Podgora so special to us is the friendliness of the Croatians (no hassle what so ever!) and the excellent food in the local restaurants. Despite Podgora being so small, there are 3-5 restaurants that belong to the best ones we ever visited.
Restaurants so good that they deserve a blogpost on their own….so watch this space! 🙂
